The car starts away, but you are able to leap in the back seat. Donna drives recklessly as you cover her face with one hand. It takes you several minutes, but you are able to reach down and turn off the key. The engine dies and the car rolls to a stop. Donna punches you in the face and you go flying into the back seat. Before she can get the car started again, you hit her in the head with your fist so hard that you are sure you have broken a finger, but she is unconscious. You shake your hand as one of the highway patrol officers run up.

"Are you OK?" he asks you.

"I think I broke my finger," you say as you sit back on the back seat of the car.

"It is definitely broken," Jesse says as he looks at your x-ray. "The ring finger of the right hand."

You groan. "She had a really hard head," you say.

"I can see that," Mark says from his place next to Jesse as he looks at your x-rays through his glasses which sit at an angle on his nose.

"You stopped her though," Steve says. "And we don’t even need your testimony to convict."

"The DA is that sure?" Amanda asks.

"He thinks we can get murder one for Donna," Steve says.

"What about Bobby?" you ask.

"He’s gone state’s evidence," Steve tells you. "He’ll get five if he gets anything."

Mark takes off his glasses and looks at you. "The killer is in jail and that’s all that matters."
